Content, but also not.

Ok. So I changed my space art descriptor to science fiction. For one reason, because the pics more closely resemble sf art, what with the spaceships, but also, because without a shadow of doubt, the work displayed in the space art gallery is mostly appalling. I was shocked. Now I know that on examination there are flaws in my own work, big deal, I'm mostly messing...but c'mon...people are posting pics of planets and they haven't even bothered to check if they're spherical. The quality is so bad that the question arises of visual impairment on the part of the artist. The astonishing thing is that people are faving this shit. Possibly people with white sticks of their own.

Naturally, with a few exceptions, the sf gallery is much the same. Depressing. I'm all for encouraging people, but would it be too much to ask that intending posters exercise a little self-restraint before vomiting stuff onto the net? Do some research, check out some Hubble stuff, and for dog's sake practice a bit more. And look into Space.com and the image galleries there to see what properly executed sf and space art can look like. Oh, yeah and quit trying to pass off someone else's digital stuff as one's own ( traditional ) painting. That is so adolescent. And easily refuted. There was one rather pleasant piece I came across and faved, then decided to check out the rest of the gallery. Right...handpainted. Fave removed. Seriously. That's pathetic. If you want to paint like the big boys, grow up, develop a conscience and LEARN.

Thanks, but don't hold your breath, I'm afraid. Other projects are taking priority.

I always appreciate those who can do sci-fi/space artwork...especially with traditional mediums! You keep up the good work. I am surprised you do not have anybody watching you yet. Your art is good. I also see that you are new to DA! Welcome!

Hiya...And thanks for your feedback and comments, glad you like the work. They're fun to do , but I should be working on my first one man in 16 years, and these are a distraction.

I'm not new to DA, BTW, I just have another page for my regular stuff.

Thanks once more, no doubt we'll talk
again.
